The days are dwindling... and we are taking our last round of GRADE assessments this week.   I will have scores for the 8th graders by the end of the week, beginning of next week the latest.

  • Periods 1, 2 and 7 are writing creative stories to practice our sentence structure (and avoiding run-ons and fragments); after April break, we will begin a new book together.
  • Period 4 & 5 are reading short stories and practicing reading comprehension questions and identifying vocabulary.; after April break, students will choose whether to read a new book together or read short stories together.

The English teachers administered the DRP (Degrees of Reading Power) testing in their English class this month.  These scores are essential to appropriate placement in our high school classes.  We are currently waiting for the results to arrive.

Please take the opportunity to explore what we are up to in class... and sign in our guestbook to say hello :)

My students have taught me about motivation...
-about teacher misconceptions and the effect on what happens in the classroom due to it...
-about male and female learning styles...
-about the importance and effect of parent-teacher communication...
-and about the beauty and affection of the teacher-student relationship!!!

I am truly thankful for the opportunity to work with the best kids in Warwick...the last four years have been truly special!
